From the Natural History Museum's main entrance on Cromwell Road, head east along Cromwell Gardens, cross at Thurloe Place, and continue onto Brompton Road. ALBA London is the corner restaurant opposite the South Door of Harrods. Six minutes at a steady pace, eight with small children, four if the kids are running.
A Good Lunch After a Long Morning
Many families arrive in the early afternoon, fresh from the dinosaur galleries and the diplodocus, and a long museum morning needs a proper sit-down lunch. Our set lunch was built for guests who need to keep moving but want a real meal. Handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza, fish from the daily oyster and seafood display. We seat children comfortably and have a small but considered children's option available on request.
Evenings After a Museum Late
When the Natural History Museum runs late events (Lates evenings, Christmas ice rink, summer programming), ALBA's dining room is the closest serious Italian restaurant. We serve until 11.30pm Monday to Thursday and until midnight Friday and Saturday, so there is no rush after a late-night museum visit.
Parking, Prams, Accessibility
Q-Park Knightsbridge on Pavilion Road is the closest car park, three minutes' walk from ALBA. The restaurant has step-free access from Brompton Road, room for prams next to certain tables (mention when booking), and the staff will happily store the day's museum bags during your meal.
