Knightsbridge's Serious Wine Room
ALBA London's wine cellar is the kind of room that rewards a slow visit between courses. Italian regional depth, Masseto and Dom Perignon in vintage, a sommelier who knows the difference between a Chianti Classico and a Chianti Classico Riserva. Knightsbridge's serious wine room.
The cellar's range
Our wine cellar travels widely. Italian regional depth across Tuscany, Piedmont, Veneto, Sicily and Campania. A strong Champagne section. Dom Perignon vintage, and a rotating selection of grower-Champagnes for guests who prefer them. Bordeaux and Burgundy lists for guests who want to drink French alongside their Italian. A small Spanish selection. Single-bottle Italian icons including Masseto in available vintages. Spirits. Aged grappa, vintage Limoncello, Italian amari for the after-dinner glass.
Italian regional depth
Tuscany. Chianti Classico through Riserva and Gran Selezione, Brunello di Montalcino, Super Tuscans from Bolgheri (the Sassicaia and Ornellaia neighbourhood). Piedmont. Barolo and Barbaresco from the major producers, Barbera and Dolcetto for lighter pockets. Veneto. Amarone della Valpolicella, Soave Classico, a rotating Prosecco selection. Sicily. Etna Rosso, Etna Bianco, Nero d'Avola. Campania. Greco di Tufo, Falanghina, Taurasi (the lesser-known southern Barolo). The list rotates as wines are sourced; ask the sommelier for the current page.
The sommelier's role
Our sommelier works the dining room every service. A la carte pairing - the 'tell me your budget and what you like' service - is available on every table. Guests are welcome to walk through the cellar between courses, and a longer cellar visit can be arranged ahead of the meal.
Cellar dinners and tastings
The Chef's Table Experience in our Cabina del Capitano, which seats up to ten guests, includes a cellar visit. Private cellar dinners and private dining in Knightsbridge can be arranged on request. We also host periodic public wine tastings; follow us on Instagram for announcements.
